Island of Insanity 2019, our first Lovecraft/Cthulhu themed micro-con, was a great success, despite the weather throwing everything it had at us. The follow-up event in 2020 was even better, and after a predictable hiatus in 2021, the 2022 event trumped them all.
But don’t just take our word for it – here’s what some of the attendees have to say:
“A great bunch of people in an extraordinary location…”
“The right balance of being guided and left to explore…”
“Fantastic value. Well worth the money for the experience…”
“Without doubt for me this was one of the most fun trips and events I have ever been to…”
“So different and fun! “
“I have been to more festivals, trips around the world and events than I can remember. This one is right at the top and will stick in my mind forever.”
In fact, everyone always has such an amazing time that they invariably want to come back, and are given first refusal on places at future events. So we get heavily pre-booked for follow-ups.
Traditionally Island of Insanity has primarily been about Lovecraftian gaming, as most happens within the walls of a suitably thematic Victorian villa we have dubbed the Mansion of Madness, and the island is dotted with numerous Victorian structures – not to mention older, more eldritch architecture, as the island’s history features Vikings, pirates and corsairs, and you can find everything from the remains of Bronze Age round houses to a 12th century castle.
However in 2022, we supplemented our usual Mansion of Madness location with another amazing area known as The Barn, where we ran games themed around sea-raiders… so Pirates and Vikings and cries of “Yarrrrrr!!!!” were mixed in with the usual screams of those deranged by our usual Lovecraftian fare!
If the Mansion or the Barn don’t appeal, there’s always the mid-19th century lighthouse, Old Light, up on the hill… next to a graveyard too. I mean how much more thematic do you want?
If this all sounds like your cup of tea/flagon of ale, then this is your opportunity to get more information on how you can join us.
Tickets include 4 nights accommodation, return helicopter tickets, welcome pack and event access (gaming, guided walks… and of course, fun!). Not included is catering and mainland accommodation and transport before/after the event.
We offer places by invite only on a first enquired/first offered basis, so get your name down quickly using the sign-up form below to be considered!
[N.B. Due to limited places we don’t initially sell Double Room tickets for single occupancy, although upgrades might be offered to Single Room purchasers at a later date. So only select Double in the drop-down if you want to attend with your significant other.]
